The Kalispell Grand Hotel receives generally positive feedback, praised for its historic charm, excellent location in downtown Kalispell, and friendly staff. However, recurring concerns regarding outdated amenities, inconsistent service, and cleanliness issues are evident in recent reviews.
My sister and I stayed recently and we absolutely LOVED the hotel! Everyone was so kind, the space was beautiful, breakfast was tasty, and the cookies and popcorn at night were greatly appreciated. You can’t beat the location either! Walking distance to shopping, bars, food, etc.
Spent my final Glacier vacation night in the heart of Kalispell at this great, historic hotel. The staff were most helpful, parking was free in a lot near the front door, and you could really sense the history of it's over 100 years. They have a small self-serve breakfast in the morning and coffee...all included. The manager was so kind and helpful, and the location is perfect as you are right on the main drag on Kalispell. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Kalispell Grand! Everyone there was helpful and polite. The breakfast was wonderful - as were the freshly baked cookies and popcorn in the evening. The location was fantastic - right in downtown Kalispell with great restaurants and breweries (HIGHLY recommend Bingo Night at Bias Brewing) in esay walking distance. The rooms are definitely small - but that's to be expected in an historic hotel. The beds were very comfortable (loved the pillows). I hear they're renovating the bathrooms in the next year - which will be a big improvement.
Like other “classic” hotels, the rooms are quaint and plumbing is older. Great lobby with cookies and popcorn starting at 7 pm. Parking in convenient lot out back. Great downtown location.
Nice hotel - enjoyed our stay! I read other reviews and had some concerns about cleanliness, out-dated amenities, super-small room, etc, but I didn't see any of that. Our room (King single) was average size, bed comfortable, A/C worked - was a hot day, and bathroom fine. I really enjoyed spending time in the guest area on 1st floor. Elevator is super slow, but I prefer stairs anyway, and they were well-lit and with a wide stairway.
Location and history could not be better... Amazing. But the owners need to empower their Manager. When we arrived after a long drive, I wanted to shower. No soap in the bathroom. I went to the front desk and I was told "We've been out of soap for several days, our shipment didn't come in." Next morning at breakfast, the toaster had a note on it, it was broken. If guests are paying over $400 a night, you go BUY soap, and you go BUY a toaster - same day. Those were easy fixes. I went and bought a bar of soap so I could shower, but that's something a hotel should provide.
We LOVED our stay at the Kalispell Grand Hotel! The lobby is comfortable and beautiful and the popcorn and cookies were a fun surprise. We arrived late and completely exhausted after a backpacking trip in Glacier, the front desk staff made sure we felt welcomed and quickly checked into our room and gave us an excellent suggestion for dinner (shout out to the pizza from Moose's Saloon). Breakfast was fantastic and had many options (yogurt, fruit, cereal, quiche, oatmeal bake, muffins, coffee cake, toast and of course huckleberry jam). I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to have the chance to stay again!
We had a generally pleasant stay. Three out of the 4 team members we interacted with were truly excellent: friendly, helpful, and professional. The breakfast was phenomenal, easily one of the highlights of our visit, and the coffee? Hands down the best hotel coffee I've ever had. A rare and welcome surprise! The hotel was quiet overall, which we really appreciated. Even the breakfast area offered a peaceful atmosphere, no music or TV, just a calm space to eat and enjoy conversation. It felt like a thoughtful touch in a world that’s often too loud. The room itself was just okay. It was clean and functional, but a couple of things made it less comfortable than we’d hoped. The bathroom door wouldn’t stay open, which was inconvenient, and the lack of blackout curtains made it hard to fall asleep. Overall, the great service and serene, high-quality breakfast experience elevated our stay. With a few updates to the room, this could be an outstanding hotel.
Great breakfast with comfortable rooms and historical charm. When we arrived, they had complimentary fresh baked cookies and fresh popped popcorn available. They also had 24 hr coffee, tea, hot chocolate available. For breakfast, I had a delicious, fresh baked quiche and coffee cake. They also had granola, boxed cereal, several other pastries, orange juice and cranberry juice. For the rooms, the beds were clean and comfortable but the toilet was loose and 2 light fixtures had loose on-off switches.
I stayed there Monday April 28th. This place was charming. The staff was really friendly and rooms were really clean. I liked the old key style. The one thing that threw me off was when I was downstairs in the lobby just hanging out because it was nice, around Noon and one of the workers was questioning what I was doing there and if I was waiting for a ride. She had kept watching me since breakfast but did not question the white old lady and her dog sitting there. When I finally showed her my key and said I was just hanging out she tried to change her story as to why she was asking me what I was doing. Everyone else was absolutely wonderful.
