The Americas Best Value Inn Kalispell consistently receives negative reviews, primarily citing cleanliness and staff issues. While some guests appreciate the location and value, repeated complaints about dirty rooms, unpleasant odors, and rude staff indicate significant problems with the property’s upkeep and service quality. Recent reviews highlight concerns regarding basic hygiene standards and a lack of responsiveness from hotel staff.
Bathroom was dirty when I arrived - hair and other mess on sink. Ice maker down hall SO loud woke me up multiple times throughout night as someone used it. There was a truck parked inches outside my window and window was unlocked. Took me several minutes to push and shove and get the latch to lock window. Bed moved like a boat with every movement. I always stay in most affordable hotels and they are just fine. Highly recommend avoiding this one. Location was fine and front desk was friendly.
Service at this location has been phenomenal. There’s an employee here by the name Pepper, who has been probably the nicest and friendliest person I’ve met and is one of the reasons I keep coming back to this location. There is another employee here by the name of Cassidy who in my opinion is for the worst employees, incredibly rude and abrasive, doesn’t listen to customers or show respect in anyway I have dealt with him twice in both times have been a incredibly frustrating and teeth, grinding experience turned me and my partner away even though the hospital is right across the street and my partner just had surgery the other day, and the possibility of having to revisit the hospital and needing somewhere close by to be just in case did not matter to them because of miscommunication and their inability to actually hear what I was saying complaining about $100 deposit which when I pay online, I never have had to pay since coming here. It’s never been a problem before matter of fact I do my damnedest to ensure the room is in an easy to clean condition when leaving things like stripping the beds of all the dirty linens and putting the dirty towels and such in a pile and taking the trash, gathering it up and taking it out and putting it in the trashcan and putting new trash bags in the trash cans just to make the housekeepers‘s job a little easier. Will be getting in touch with owners to file a complaint refused to give me the information we will be finding the information myself and continuing through with that complaint.
This is old review writing after few months. Very bad experience at this place. Two starts because of location. First time stayed at this hotel and for sure it’s the last time. The experience was worst than expected. Very unhygienic and overall smelly place. Carpets were very dirty and smelly, rooms were very dull and washrooms were disaster? Staff was very rude, not friendly. Washroom shower not working, Spider webs and sticky dust particles hanging from the top, towels were not clean properly (other ppl hair on the towel), I can’t understand why they offer free breakfast (ideally there were nothing to eat, no fresh coffee no fruits or even bread was finished no one was there to ask for) We wasted our money by booking this place. Do not fall for cheap rates. You will definitely find better place just in $25-$30 higher. If you have a kid with you then just avoid this place (we had our toddler with us and it’s very difficult to handle kids in such unhealthy, and unhygienic place). For sure will not recommend to anyone!
I was there because of a medical procedure. The Staff was very nice, they gave us a medical discount, the breakfast was not. When we got to our room we had 1 bath towel & 1 bath mat,1 plastic cup,no trash can liner (almost looked like the room was 1/2 cleaned or not finished?) I found at least 6 long black hairs in/on the bed/bedding. The toilet was very tiny (think grade school sized) Traffic noise was awful (not the Hotels fault, but just letting everybody know) We won't be staying there again, but at the time it was closest to the hospital, and it was the only one we could afford, now prices are coming down,we'll have to find a different one for the next trip back
The bad reviews are true. When we first checked in at the front desk, Jody was kind. When we got into our room 111, it looked very out dated and run down, splotchy wall repairs and paint job, bathroom door handle screws were coming out, old beat up furniture, but the biggest problem was the long gross hair on all the bedding(it wasnt just a little bit), plus stained pillows. We went back to Jody to switch rooms and she immediately had an attitude at us and seemed like she took the unclean room personally, maybe she cleans them, too? When we got into the second room, 115, the condition was nearly the same as the first. My wife and I checked the bedding first and saw a bunch of hair again in the sheets, and stained pillowcases. First time could be a mistake, second time is a pattern of the lack of care the hotel has. We went back to Jody to ask for a refund and she huffed and puffed like we were somehow in the wrong? All in all, do not recommend. I can understand that cheap hotels are outdated and don't have a lot of amenities..which is why they're cheap, but they should ALWAYS be clean! Do not stay here.
Pretty basic motel and price point is tops, way less than super 8 etc. Room was clean, but dated and shower had a nozzle that was confusing to operate properly. Pillows on the bed should be changed out, pretty flat. Still all things considered I would stay here again.
Sad the place really needs to be updated. They have made some improvements. There was New flooring in our room. The parking lot was recently paved. The bathroom sink was clean but pretty cruddy stains make you question whether it is clean. Some of the furniture was pretty nicked up. The window to the room could not lock, although there was a stop on the window. The hallway carpet was well worn to the point it doesn’t look clean. Homeless woman at lobby breakfast? A car in lot so full of stuff. We were thankful the beds were clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful. There was someone planting flowers in pots all around the place. Sorry to say we would not stay here again.
Rude lady at the front gave us attitude just for asking for more towels, she accused me of being rude when all I needed was four towels. She rolled her eyes and gave me attitude like I was asking for too much. The lady who initially checked us in with the blonde hair was just about the only friendly person there.
First of the bathroom has mold all over the ceiling, the bathroom door does not latch closed, the bedding was gross and has hair and stains on it, rhe fridge is being help up by a plastic soda bottle lid, the ac is being held up by a little block if wood, the furniture has not been dusted in weeks, and the ac does not blow real cold air. Under the beds have not been cleaned, there was food and hair under them. This was the first and last time i will ever stay at this brand of hotel. The breakfast was boring and plain. This was by far the worst experience ever.
My mom and I checked in today with Jody who got us a main floor room because I am having neck surgery and my Mom is 86. She was so kind and accommodating! Our room is very clean, beds are comfortable and we are pleased since the hotel is right across the street from the hospital!
